But what of those a step or two down the ladder? Are they being left out? But they are seeing the item to the next level up and are possibly tempted to pass more trade your way next year and aim for the next level. It may sound daft, but it is the human mind.

This works particularly well within the business to business sector, where the buyer you are dealing with may well be spending the company’s money, instead of their own. You are encouraging them to come and buy from you, rather than your competition. Will they really concern themselves if the price is a little bit more, when it is not their cash that is being spent and there is a chance of much better gifts next Christmas!
