Get Paid To Post Through Revenue Sharing Forums
Thursday, June 11, 2009 8:47The revenue sharing model of many of today’s blogs and forums is not a new concept, and has a history that seems to have started back in 2004. These blogs and forums share a portion of their ad revenue with members who participate in forum posts and blog entries, with the percentage of revenue sharing varying from nearly zero to as much as 100%, with most sites sharing around half of their revenue. There are numerous methods of determining how a member is paid, from starting a new thread, ending a thread, most posts in a thread, point systems, and surely many others.
While it’s difficult to determine how lucrative this model may or may not be for the members of these blogs and forums, there is money to be made. Some member statements lament at making just enough money to buy their morning cup of coffee as they log in to post and blog, yet there are reports by a few of these posters and bloggers claiming that they can earn as much as $25.00 a day… $750.00 a month! It would seem that both of these amounts are on the extreme ends of the scale, but if you could assume to be paid only a third of what these “top earners” claim to receive, that would still be as much as $250.00 a month; could you pay the utility bill with that, maybe phone, internet, and cable, or how about a car payment!
So how does one go about getting a piece of this revenue sharing? To start with, a simple search with your favorite search engine should get you a fairly large listing of sites offering revenue sharing. One thing you may want to consider adding to your search criteria is a topic or subject that interests you, or something you would feel comfortable posting or blogging about (like maybe your job or hobbies), or even something new you might benefit from (like investing for example). Keep in mind that you will be participating in the discussions on the sites you join, and will have to follow their rules for appropriate subject material.
Once you find the site (or sites) you might be interested in, be sure to read their payment policies, and find out about their revenue sharing guidelines. Many of these sites use Google AdSense, and for those sites you will need to sign up for an AdSense account, other sites may use Yahoo, Microsoft, or other forms of advertisement, so be sure to be familiar with all of the requirements for these sites as well.
Lastly, if you find that you’re only earning enough money to buy that morning cup of coffee, don’t be afraid to join another site or two, or even drop one of the lower paying sites for a site that offers a higher percentage of revenue sharing.
