Many people are implementing strategies in affiliate marketing that causes them to fail. Of course they are not doing this on purpose, however they are still doing it.

The failure rate in affiliate marketing is particularly high, although it is not as high as it used to be. Actually it can be as high as two out of 10 people are now successful. It used to be that up to 95% of people were unsuccessful when trying to make money as an internet marketer.

Part of the reason for an improved success rate is because people describe success in different ways, this helps clarify the reason more people are succeeding at it. There are people who are happy if they earned $100 , and others who do not consider themselves successful except if they can support themselves.

A $100 may not look like a lot but it makes them successful since they are aware of exactly what their goal is and they achieved it. Others want to receive a full-time salary as an internet marketer and many who set out to attain that goal are actually doing it.

Nevertheless what about the people that are failing. What are the failure strategies of the eight out of 10 people?

1. They jump from one program to the next never making money on any. Since it is free to join an affiliate program it is tempting to think that the program is stopping you from succeeding.

In reality if you would concentrate on generating money with one program before starting in another you can avoid failure.

2. They do not set up a distinct website. Having the replicated website is not a good strategy for having a successful business, unless you steer massive levels of traffic to it. Most affiliate marketers never reach that level.

3. They do not own the product they are trying to promote. This may turn out to be less important as you advertise more affiliate products.

But when you initially start out by owning the product, it gives you an edge over your competitors. You can create a review page and really know what you’re discussing, which can help you sell more.

4. People do not capture names and email addresses for future follow up. This is known as building an email marketing list and is the foundation of success for a lot of top affiliate marketers. If you want to guarantee your failure do not build a list.

5. They never produce meaningful traffic. If you do not have sufficient visitors to your website, you will never have any sales. Fortunately two out of 10 internet marketers now get more traffic than they used to.

This is some of the affiliate marketing failure strategies that will ensure your failure. If you want to succeed you should try doing these five things instead of not doing them.
